Fair Housing Information

Housing Connections, sponsored by The City of Portland Bureau of Housing and Community Development conducts its business and expects all users to conduct their business in accordance with Federal Fair Housing Amendments Act, Applicable State Laws, and the City of Portland Civil Rights Ordinance (PCC Chapter 23, where applicable).

Fair Housing laws are the anti-discrimination laws that apply to almost all housing. If you are unsure whether or how the law applies to you, to housing you are offering for rent or sale or to housing you are renting, trying to rent, buying or trying to buy, you should consult an attorney.

If you have questions or if you believe you may have been a victim of housing discrimination, you can contact the Fair Housing Council of Oregon at 503-223-8197 or 1-800-424-3247 (TTY) or at information@fhco.org, if you live in Oregon or Clark County, Washington. You can also contact the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development at 800-669-9777, TDD Number:800-927-9275.
